were involved from feasibility study through process validation
exercise and then into the full engineering of the automation
system for the handling of lead pots that contained radioactive
vials. The system incorporated mobile freezers and robotic handling
to manipulate and transfer the product quickly and effectively.
The drug needed to be maintained below -23 degree C and processed
away from human contact. Empty freezer units were docked in place,
these were then filled with empty pots for chilling. Once chilled
the pots were at temperature they were robotically unloaded, filled
with the vial, and then using a second robot a second freezer
unit was loaded.
